I coach runners using an individualized, holistic approach that focuses on the whole runner, not just a general training plan.
That means considering lifestyle, stress, recovery, fueling, and how the body actually adapts over time. Training should apply a variety of stresses, build resilience across systems, and support both performance and long-term health.
Metabolic health is one part of that picture. Carbohydrates have a place — especially for hard efforts and racing — but they aren’t required for every run. Learning when to fuel, when not to, and how to rely more on the body’s own energy stores helps runners train more consistently, perform better, and stay healthier over time.
